The Upper West Regional Minister, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing, has urged players of Kalibi Sporting Club to remain disciplined, committed and focused as they prepare for their maiden campaign in the UMB Division One League.
The Minister made the call on Thursday, September 10, 2026, when Kalibi SC paid a courtesy call on him to formally present the club following its historic qualification for the Division One League after winning the Upper West Regional Division Two League last season.
The visit also provided the club an opportunity to brief the Minister on its maiden pre-season training tour of the Greater Accra Region and preparations for the upcoming league campaign.
Lawyer Puozuing congratulated the players, technical team and management for the club’s progress and commended its leadership for developing Kalibi into a growing multisport institution.
He said he had followed the club’s achievements in volleyball, particularly the outstanding performance of its women’s team, which won the CAVB Zone 3 Club Championship and represented Ghana at the continental level, finishing fifth in Africa.
The Minister encouraged the players to appreciate the sacrifices being made for their development and work collectively to take the club to greater heights.
On behalf of the playing body and technical team, Vice President Evans Kula and the Head Coach thanked the Minister for his reception, encouragement and advice.
They assured him that the team would remain focused as it begins its Division One campaign.
Kalibi SC presented the Regional Minister with a replica of the club’s jersey as a symbol of appreciation and partnership.
The Minister also made a personal donation of GH¢5,000 to support the club and pledged that the Regional Coordinating Council would explore possible avenues of assistance for Kalibi SC.
The club expressed gratitude to the Regional Minister for his support and encouragement, pledging to represent the Upper West Region with discipline, hard work and excellence.
