The Chiefs and people of the Kaleo Traditional Council on Saturday, July 4, 2026, celebrated this year’s Zombente Festival at Kaleo in the Upper West Region.

The annual festival brought together sons and daughters of the traditional area, alongside distinguished guests, to celebrate their rich cultural heritage and reflect on the progress and development of the community.

Addressing the gathering, Naa Yelimiihi Biengu II, Paramount Chief of Kaleo, called on the people to embrace unity as the foundation for sustainable development.

He urged residents, both at home and in the diaspora, to put aside their differences and work together to advance the socio-economic growth of the traditional area.

“Peace is the soil in which progress grows. I call on all factions, all families, and all youth groups to sheathe every sword of division. Let us settle our differences on the palaver grounds, not on social media or in the streets. A divided Kaleo cannot attract development. A united Kaleo is unstoppable,” he said.

“Kaleo is calling you home. Invest in a classroom block, sponsor a brilliant but needy child, or support a women’s cooperative. Your hometown needs your hands as much as your heart.”
