The Wa Municipal Assembly is planning a comprehensive redevelopment of the Wa Central Market as part of efforts to create more spaces for traders and improve the organisation of businesses within the market.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Issah Nura Danwanaa, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Kangyiri Radio, saying the Assembly has developed a comprehensive design that includes the construction of shops and multi-storey buildings.

According to him, the redevelopment will not affect existing businesses but will instead create additional spaces for people to conduct their businesses.

Alhaji Danwanaa said the Assembly has also secured the support of traditional authorities to address activities involving children who go out at night.

He explained that the collaboration with the traditional authorities forms part of broader efforts to improve security and maintain order within the municipality.

“I have a very comprehensive design for the market, which includes the construction of shops and multi-storey buildings. This will not affect existing businesses. We simply want to create more spaces for people to operate their businesses.
