The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Wa Central Constituency has directed all members engaging in premature campaigns for the upcoming parliamentary primaries to stop immediately.

The directive follows concerns by the constituency leadership that some party members have begun approaching executives and other stakeholders to declare their intentions to contest in the forthcoming parliamentary primaries.

In a press release signed by Abdulai Kpegla, the party said the Constituency Executive Committee, at a meeting held on September 26, 2026, resolved that all such activities, whether conducted openly or secretly, must cease.

The party warned that premature campaigns could create disunity and distract members from its core objectives.

It reminded members of their responsibility to protect the unity, cohesion and discipline of the party, stressing that anyone who disregards the directive would face disciplinary action in accordance with the party’s constitution.

The release also cautioned polling station executives, electoral area coordinating team members, constituency executives, elders and patrons against attending meetings, tours or other public and private engagements intended to promote the parliamentary ambitions of any individual.

The directive will remain in force until the party officially opens nominations for the parliamentary primaries.

The Wa Central NPP leadership urged all members to comply with the directive in the interest of party unity.
