Kalibi SC President Bernard Angbataayela Mornah has vowed to take legal action against individuals he says have made defamatory allegations against him and his club following the conclusion of the Upper West Regional Football Association (RFA) Middle League tournament.

Speaking in an interview on Mak FM, Mr. Mornah expressed concern over what he described as a series of false accusations, including allegations of bribery, levelled against Kalibi SC during and after the tournament held in Tumu.

He specifically mentioned the chairman of the middle league, Issah Mahmud popularly known in football parlance as Asamoah, indicating that he intends to sue him over comments allegedly made during a recent radio interview.

“If I will not sue anyone, I will sue Asamoah to prove his allegations against us,” Mr. Mornah stated.

Kalibi SC lost 4-2 to Kulfuo Dreams SC in the final of the competition. However, the club subsequently lodged a protest, alleging that Kulfuo Dreams used unregistered jerseys during the match.

The protest was upheld by the relevant authorities, resulting in a ruling in favour of Kalibi SC.

Dissatisfied with the decision, Kulfuo Dreams SC appealed to the Ghana Football Association(GFA) for redress. The appeal is currently before the GFA’s disciplinary committee for determination.

Mr. Mornah said he and his club have taken note of all allegations made against them and are compiling evidence, including screenshots and audio recordings, for future action.

According to him, Kalibi SC is awaiting the outcome of the appeal before responding comprehensively to the allegations and pursuing legal remedies where necessary.

He maintained that those responsible for spreading what he described as false information would be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels.
