The Member of Parliament for Wa Central and newly appointed Minister of State for Special Initiatives, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, has expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for retaining him in government following the latest ministerial reshuffle.
Hon. Pelpuo, who was reassigned from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Job Creation, said he had been overwhelmed by calls from across the country, particularly from the Upper West Region, following news of his reshuffle.
In a Facebook post, he thanked the people for their support and messages, saying he appreciated his new position.
“I’m overwhelmed with calls all over the country and especially from the Upper West Region over my reshuffle. Thanks to all. I appreciate the new position,” he stated.
The Wa Central MP also thanked President Mahama for keeping him in government and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the administration to achieve its objectives.
He said his continued service would contribute to pushing the government’s reset agenda “to a logical and successful conclusion.”
Hon. Pelpuo further described service to the nation as his core mission, stressing the importance of fulfilling the commitments made to Ghanaians.
“Service to the nation is my core mission to get what we promise the nation a paramount concern,” he added.
His reassignment forms part of President Mahama’s latest ministerial reshuffle, which moved him from the Labour, Employment and Job Creation portfolio to serve as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
