The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Wa Central Constituency Secretary, Abdulai Kpegla Issah, has acknowledged that the party’s overall performance in the last election was not good but says the outcome must be assessed on a constituency-by-constituency basis.

According to him, the factors that affected the party’s performance varied from one constituency to another and should not be treated as a uniform national situation.

Mr. Kpegla also noted that political parties in government face certain disadvantages, which, he said, the NPP failed to pay sufficient attention to while in office.

“Though the party’s general performance was not good, it is constituency by constituency cases. There are disadvantages for a party in government, but we didn’t give attention to them,” he said.

He made the comments on Kangyiri Radio 99.1 FM during a discussion on the performance of the NPP in the Wa Central Constituency and the factors that contributed to the party’s electoral outcome.
