Her excellency the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, has commiserated with Jujeidayiri community in Wa in the Upper West Region over the death of Hajia Habibata Yakubu Kuriteeng, who before her demise had a close relationship with the first family.
The First Lady who came with a high powered delegation included Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources and Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff, Administration among others.
Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, Mrs. Bampoe Addo, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mrs. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, conveyed a message of gratitude and unity on behalf of Her Excellency Mrs. Lordina Mahama during a visit to commiserate with the family of the late Hajia Habibata Yakubu Kuriteeng.
She thanked the family for their immense support, prayers, and solidarity during the bereavement and funeral of Mrs Habibata Yakubu who was described as Lordina’s mother.
She said the First Lady deeply appreciated the love shown and the dignified farewell accorded to her late mother.
Mrs. Bampoe Addo stated that Her Excellency’s greatest desire is for her mother’s legacy to endure through the unity and love of the family.
She urged relatives to uphold the values of peace, humility, kindness, and togetherness that the late matriarch exemplified throughout her life.
She further encouraged the family to continue living in harmony, supporting one another, and keeping the memory of their beloved mother alive through prayer and by practicing the virtues she cherished.
“The heart desire of her excellency is that the legacy of her mother should live on and we should all leave in peace , we should remember her virtues, we should hold her up in prayers and towards the future, we should all live together with the love she for us all as a family,” the deputy Chief of Staff stated.
For his part, the former Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, speaking on behalf of the leader of the Jujeidayiri community expressed profound appreciation for the longstanding relationship between Her Excellency Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, President John Dramani Mahama, and the late Hajia Habibata Yakubu Kuriteeng.
He said the First Lady’s visit had reaffirmed the bond the First Family shared with the deceased and demonstrated their commitment to standing with the community in its time of grief.
“There is no single person in this community who is not aware of the relation that the first family with my late grandmother Hajia Habibata Yakubu Kuriteeng,” he said.
“Anytime you or excellency came to the upper west region you found time to visit my grandmother and they say it is time of need that you know who your true friends are.”
“This morning we were all shocked when we heard you were coming. Everybody in this community knew her as the president’s mother and knew her as Madam Lordina’s mother. As for my grandmother she lived a worthy life.“
