Kalibi Sporting Club have been confirmed champions of the Upper West Regional Division Two League following the final dismissal of an appeal filed by Kulfuo Dreams at the Ghana Football Association Appeals Committee.
The ruling brings final closure to a heated middle league dispute that initially altered the competitive balance of the title race.
The appellate panel chaired by Osei Kwadwo Adow, Esq., with Emmanuel Nikoi, Esq., Nathaniel Laryea, Shaibu Ali, and Lawrence Asare-Attuah as members unanimously dismissed the appeal, thereby upholding the earlier decision of the Upper West Regional Football Association Disciplinary Committee.
At the heart of the dispute was Match Day Four of the Upper West Regional Division Two Middle League staged in Tumu, where Kulfuo Dreams recorded a 4–2 victory over Kalibi SC.
That fixture ultimately became the only defeat Kalibi SC suffered throughout the entire middle league campaign, while Kulfuo Dreams went on to complete the competition unbeaten.
Following the match, Kalibi SC filed a formal protest against Kulfuo Dreams, alleging that the winning side fielded players in jerseys that were not duly registered in accordance with competition regulations.
After reviewing the protest, the Upper West Regional Football Association Disciplinary Committee upheld Kalibi SC’s complaint and awarded the match to Kalibi SC.
The decision effectively reversed the on-field result, reshaping the points standings and placing Kalibi SC in a decisive position in the title race.
Unwilling to accept the ruling, Kulfuo Dreams escalated the matter to the national level, filing an appeal at the Ghana Football Association Appeals Committee.
However, after reviewing all evidence, including submissions from both clubs, the appellate body upheld the regional decision and dismissed the appeal in its entirety.
With the appeal exhausted, the protest ruling stands, confirming Kalibi SC as winners of the disputed fixture and ultimately sealing their position at the summit of the league table.
