In what appears to be one of the shortest and most precise verdicts delivered by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Appeals Committee in recent times, the committee has dismissed an appeal filed by Sore Nante against Kalibi Sporting Club in just two substantive orders, with the detailed reasons to be communicated later.
The decision was delivered by the GFA Disciplinary Committee sitting as the Appellate Committee in Protest Case No. A/2026/7/2/1, following a review of submissions from both parties.
According to the ruling, the committee sat “in accordance with the provisions of Article 56 of the GFA Statutes and the Regional Football Associations Leagues Regulations” to determine the appeal involving Sore Nante, the appellant, and Kalibi Sporting Club, the respondent.
The five-member panel was chaired by Osei Kwadwo Adow, Esq., with Emmanuel Nikoi, Esq., Nathaniel Laryea, Shaibu Ali, and Lawrence Asare-Attuah serving as members.
In its brief ruling, the committee stated that it had considered “the Appeal filed by Sore Nante and all its accompanying attachments, the Statement of Defence from Kalibi Sporting Club and all its accompanying attachments as well as all other evidence available to the Committee.”
After reviewing the evidence before it, the committee reached a straightforward conclusion.
“That the appeal of Sore Nante is hereby dismissed,” the ruling stated.
The committee further indicated that the reasons underpinning its decision would be communicated to the parties in due course.
“That full written decision will be sent to the parties when ready,” the ruling added.
The decision, signed by Osei Kwadwo Adow, Esq., Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, was issued on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The succinct nature of the ruling means that while the outcome of the appeal is now known, both clubs and the football fraternity will have to await the committee’s full written decision to understand the legal and factual basis for dismissing Sore Nante’s appeal.
